Abstract:   (11 Views)
Objective: Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is characterized by deficits in executive functions and emotional self-regulation, manifesting as difficulties in response inhibition, deliberate action initiation, attention control, decision-making, objective planning and organization, mental flexibility, and metacognition. These challenges represent a broad impairment in executive functions. Consequently, this study aimed to design an online cognitive rehabilitation package for attention in children with ADHD and evaluate its effectiveness. Methods: A convenience sample of 30 children aged 7 to 12 years with ADHD who were reffered to treatment centers in Kermanshah City were selected using convenience sampling and assigned to experimental ang control groups. Children in the experimental group received online cognitive rehabilitation in four 45 to 60 minutes sessions per week for six weeks. The rehabilitation program was developed using PsychoPy game design software. Results: The findings indicated significant differences between the control and experimental groups across components of focused, sustained, and divided auditory and visual attention (P≤.05). Conclusion: Analysis of the results showed that the designed cognitive rehabilitation package significantly reduced symptoms related to auditory and visual -focused attention, sustained attention, and divided attention,  in the children receiving it. Therefore, it is recommended that this game be utilized alongside other treatments to reduce the symptoms of this disorder.
