Purpose: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of the positive parenting training program on the profile of mother-child relationship and the cognitive and behavioral regulation of emotion in mothers of hearing-impaired children.
Research method: The current research method was a semi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of the research included all mothers with hearing-impaired children aged 4 to 10 years in Sabzevar city in 1402. Volume
The sample consisted of 30 people (15 people in the experimental group and 15 people in the control group) who were selected from the statistical population in an available manner and assigned to the experimental and control groups. The experimental group received the positive parenting training program, while the control group was placed on the waiting list. Behavioral regulation of emotion and cognitive regulation of emotion were used. In order to analyze the data, multivariate analysis of covariance test was used in SPSS software version 27.
Findings: The results of the present study showed that the positive parenting intervention program had a significant effect on the profile of mother-child relationship and the cognitive and behavioral regulation of emotion in mothers of hearing-impaired children.
Conclusion: The findings of this research provide useful information regarding the positive parenting training intervention for mothers of hearing impaired children. Counselors and psychologists in hearing rehabilitation centers can use this intervention to improve the profile of mother-child communication and the cognitive and behavioral regulation of emotion in mothers of hearing-impaired children.
