The present article is the report of a research which studies the appropriateness and effectiveness of the curriculum, material and instruction of the teacher- training courses for the teachers of the blind and partially - sighted students. The sample for this study consisted of the lecturers and the graduate students of the aforementioned courses, graduated between 1995 and 2001, who were sampled randomly from teacher- training centers of all the provinces of the country. To obtain the information needed, a researcher- made questionnaire, according to the objectives and content of the training programs, was devised. For the analysis of the data, descriptive methods were applied; the results of which were indicative of the inappropriateness of the content of these courses for the training of competent teachers for the blind and partially- sighted students. |
