The present article is the report of a research which studies the appropriateness and effectiveness of the curriculum of teacher training courses for the teachers of the deaf and hearing-impaired students. 201 graduates of the teacher- training centers, graduated between 1995 and 2001 all over the country, were sampled randomly. To obtain the information needed, a researcher-made questionnaire based on the objectives and content of the training programs; approved in 1993 by the 258th session of Higher Council on Programming and confirmed by the lecturers, was devised. The descriptive analysis of the data was indicative of the inappropriateness of the content of these courses for the training of competent teachers for the deaf and hearing impaired students. Such a result brings forth the necessity of important changes.
