The effectiveness of attributional styles retraining on quality of life and self-disability of students with physical-motor disorders in Ahvaz

Purpose: The aim of this research was to investigate attributional styles retraining on increasing quality of life and reducing self-disability of students with physical -motor disorders in Ahvaz. Method: This research was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population included all students with physical -motor disorders in the first and second secondary levels of Ahvaz city in the academic year of 2020-2021. 30 people were selected from among the statistical population using the purposeful sampling method and randomly replaced in two experimental (15 people) and control (15 people) groups. In order to collect research data, Jones and Rudualt Self-Handicapping Scale (SHS) and WHO QOL BREF questionnaire were used. Attributional styles retraining was provided to the experimental group in 8 training sessions of 60 minutes. Research data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance. Results: The results showed that the attributional styles retraining has an effect on improving the quality of life and reducing the self-incapacitation of adolescents with physical -motor disorders
(p<0.05). Conclusion: According to the results obtained from this research, the attributional styles retraining is useful to improve the quality of life and reduce the self-disability of people with physical -motor disorders.
