Challenges of braille education in the visually impaired

Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the challenges of braille education to visually impaired students. Method: The research is mixed in concept and nature and uses a descriptive method. The study area was all primary school teachers of the blind group of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari in the academic year of 1402-1403. The participants were selected with a purposive sampling method and were subjected to semi-structured interviews. Interviews were conducted with 19 teachers until theoretical data saturation. In order to confirm the accuracy and reliability of the research data, the data were analyzed and reviewed and completed by the participants when needed. Data analysis was done using thematic analysis method. Results:  The result of data analysis was extracting five individual, family, educational, technological and cultural-social challenges and providing solutions based on the identified challenges. conclusion: In order to solve the challenges of learning Braille, multiple measures should be taken in the field of individual, family and community education, strengthening the continuous and close relationship between school and family, material and financial support for families and schools, modifying methods and Educational programs should be carried out with the help of new technologies to achieve the desired results.
