Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of repeating non-words on phonological memory, severity of stuttering and adaptation of children with stuttering. Method: This was a semi-experimental research of pre-test-post-test type with a control node. The statistical population of this study included all children with stuttering who referred to learning disorders centers in Sanandaj in 1402, and 30 of them were selected by available sampling and randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. Became then both groups before and after the implementation of the intervention for the experimental group responded to Riley's Stuttering Severity Questionnaire (2009), Wechsler Children's Intelligence Questionnaire version 10 and Dakhanchi Adaptation Questionnaire (2016). Then, the experimental group received the non-word training program in 16 30-minute sessions and three sessions per week, and the control group did not receive any intervention during this period. Findings: The results of multivariate covariance analysis showed that repetition of non-words, severity of stuttering, phonological memory and psychological adjustment of subjects in the experimental group significantly improved compared to the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion: The use of non-word training can be used as an effective treatment method to improve children's stuttering.
