objective: Intellectual disability can have a negative effect on family structure and lead to a destruction in family system due to psychological, social and economic stress on parents.The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of child acceptance in the relationship between family support and social responsibility in children with intellectual disability. Methods: This is a correlational study which the structural equation analysis; among mothers with intellectual disabled children living in Isfahan, due to limited access to the samples, 200 mothers were selected using available sampling method.The data gathered using the Family Support Scale, the Admission of intellectual disabled Children and Social Responsibility Scale and then analyzed by correlation analysis and structural equations using SMART_PLS software. Results: The findings showed that family support is directly and positively related to the acceptance of child and the child acceptance is positively related to social responsibility in child. However, the indirect relationships showed that family support through child acceptance is related to responsibility in child (p <0.01). Conclusion: According to the findings, it can be concluded that if the family of children with intellectual disability is actually supported in various situations, their psychological outcomes will improve and the disability of child will be accepted, and as a result, the social responsibility in the child will improve as well.
