Objective:The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of sensory integration intervention on behavioral-emotional problems of children with autism.Method:This research was conducted in a semi-experimental way with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this research included all children with autism disorder aged 6-11 in Shiraz. 30 children with autism disorder from the children with autism disorder of Shahidan Farzadeghi School in Shiraz were selected by available sampling method and randomly replaced in two experimental and control groups. The experimental group underwent sensory integration therapy during 14 sessions. While the control group did not receive any training program. The measurement tool included the children's behavior assessment system questionnaire (teacher form - second edition). The multivariate covariance analysis method was used to analyze the data, which were analyzed using the statistical software package in social sciences (version 26).Result: The findings of theunivariate analysis of covariance revealed that the intervention of sensory integration improved the behavioral-emotional problems of children with autism disorder. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the present study, it was concluded that sensory integration intervention was effective in improving behavioral-emotional problems of children with autism disorder. Therefore, it is suggested that autism teachers use this intervention for this group of children.
