The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a parenting program based on the lighthouse mentalization on mothers' self-control and aggression and lawbreaking in children with externalizing problems. The present study was a quasi-experimental applied study with pre-test-post-test and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of the study included all children with externalizing behavioral problems in Isfahan province in the academic year 2023-24, and 50 mothers of children with externalizing disorders who had problems in terms of general health based on Beck's anxiety and depression questionnaires were included in the study using the available sampling method. The instruments used were the Depression Questionnaire (Beck, 1961), Anxiety Questionnaire (Beck, 1990), Achenbach Child Behavior Inventory - Parent Version (Achenbach and Rescorla, 2001), and Self-Control Questionnaire (Rosenbaum, 1980), and the Lighthouse Mentalization-based parenting program was administered to the participants in the experimental group for 10 sessions of 120 minutes. According to the findings, the Lighthouse Mindfulness-Based Parenting Program had a positive effect on self-control, aggression, and lawbreaking in children with externalizing problems. In other words, there was a significant difference in these two variables after the implementation of the training in the post-test and follow-up stages. (p<0.01). Therefore, parenting programs based on mentalization help parents to better understand and respond to their children's feelings and behaviors. The Lighthouse Mindfulness-Based Parenting Program is designed to prevent harm caused by inappropriate parenting styles and leads to a reduction in parental compulsive behaviors
