The Comparison between the Effectiveness of Audio-Visual Perception on Reading ability of Dyslexic Children

Objective The present study compared the effectiveness of audio-visual perception teaching on reading ability of 3rd grade dyslexic children at the schools of Khomeinishahr. Method: It was experimental study with experimental-control group; therefore 30 primary school female students were selected through multi-stage cluster random sampling method from the town of Khomeinishahr, afterwards they were put into three groups of ten (two experimental and one control group). The applied instruments included: Wechsler intelligence reading aptitude test. Results: The results of the study indicated audio-visual perception training was effectvie. Morevore the resutls of LSD test showed that there was not a significant difference between two methods of auditory and visual perception. Conclusion: Teaching perceptual skills can be applied in concommitant with other teaching and medication methods.
