Objective: The purpose of this research was to examine the effect and persistence of core stability training on static, semi-dynamic, and dynamic balance in educable 10-16-year-old boys with intelectual disabiblity. Method: The present study was a controlled quasi-experimental applied research with pretest and posttest. The sample included 20 boys with intelectual disabiblity who were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (n=10). Before performing the core stability training, the static, semi-dynamic, and dynamic balance of the participants was measured by Romberg’s test, Star Excursion Balance Test, and tandem gait test, respectively. The experimental group performed the core stability training for eight weeks. Results: Results indicated the significant effect of core stability training on balance performance in the experimental group (P≤0.05). Conclusion: The present study showed that such a training improves balance in these individuals. Thus, coaches and teachers can use core stability training for individuals with intellectual disability.
