The effectiveness of non-verbal motor imitation on Length of Utterance of 8-12 years-old students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

This study designed to evaluate the  effectiveness of  non-verbal motor imitation on Length of Utterance of  8-12 years-old children afflicted  with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The  population  included  all children  with autism spectrum disorder aged 16-8 years in Miandoab city in 1395.  They were  30 children which recruited through available sampling  and randomly assigned to two control and experimental groups. Research design was pretest- post-test design with control group and follow-up. Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS),  non-verbal motor imitation package and package Action Pictures were employed. The repeated measures were used for  the purpose of data analysis.The results showed that  the non-verbal motor imitation is effective significantly in increasing the speech of children  with autism spectrum disorder. According to benefits of non-verbal motor imitation in treatment for children  with autism, it is recommended that this therapy method in conjunction with conventional methods is offered to parents and teacher of children  with autism.
